Google Voice Waiting List

I'm pretty confused about the way GV works. I already have a texting limit of 500 for $10 with verizon. Can I get free texting with GV? And will verizon allow me to take texting off my plan? If so, I will buy an invite off ebay. I just need to know how this will benefit me! And hopefully I can set it all up, not feeling too confident though. Any info would be great...:p

Yes you can get free texting with GV. The downside to it is that the text messages aren't "pushed" (you dont get your messages instantly) so it can take 10 minutes or so to get them.... unless...you have them forwarded to your gmail. It takes a little setup, but it's not too difficult. I'm hoping this is something that gets updated VERY SOON.
You can have Verizon take texting off your plan. In fact I've had them block texting to my original number and just gave everyone my new google number.

Here is a little info (if you haven't read it already) Google Voice

Just bought one off ebay for 0.06 with free shipping. Got the email with the invite about 1 hour later.

Some generous person gave me an invite on this forum and I want to return the favor to anyone here who needs one... but I don't know how or why I didn't get an invites to give out? Anyone know what the deal is??

does anyone have any extra invites???

this forum seems like a well knit community, and I definitely intend to share invites to you guys in the future if I receive one

private message me if you have one

I don't want to be a bother... so if this is getting old dont worry about it
I would just love one though

Guys, some advice for you. I waited around for 2 weeks posting on this and other forums looking for an invite. Finally I broke down and bought one off E-bay. Cost me under $2 and I had my invite in minutes. Turning off text messaging saved me $5 this month, so it pays for itself almost instantly.
