Google Voice

Yup. I've been having the same problem since the upgrade--so about a week or so now. I tried reinstalling GV but nothing changed, it still bombed on phone startup.

I decided to uninstall completely and do without until they get it fixed.

I have been having the same problem. FC on boot. This has all started since the last gv update.

GV has been updated. haven't had a problem since. they went to 3.0 or something...faintly remember now...but it was an update through the market.

Ever since I "upgraded" Google Voice to v0.3, the app FCs each time I turn my Eris on. After clearing the FC, I restart GV and it seems to be stable.

Anyone else experience this pattern?

Yes - I'm having problems too. And, if I try to sign out of my GV account using the app on my phone, it won't. It get's caught in a loop of asking which number to bind with GV. Then, I get a force close when booting up....

I think GV's issues might be because of some forthcoming update. Since the Nexus One is out, it would only make sense for GV to have a serious update to better integrate everything.. Maybe?

been seeing an issue here and there now...it will hang once i call someone...hang on "dialing". if i try it through my carrier it works (of course).

i have an eris with google voice, when i call out using gv it dials a bridging number i guess with an 850 area code and i get a message we cannot complete this call, please try again thanks. It is the same bridging number for every number I call in my address book except my home phone number which it get through to, any ideas

I'm looking for a google voice invite. Send me a PM if you've got one for me.

Thanks.

Update: Got my invite.

I've got two google voice invites left to anyone who wants them. Send me a PM if interested.

edit - Google Voice invites are now gone.

I'm a brand new eris owner. GV FC on me at boot. However *most* functionality works. The only thing is is does not fully integrate with the phone like GV does on my moto droid. I am wondering if these are the steps that are causing it to FC at boot, the integration steps?

Calling out seems a bit wonky, contact pics don't work and the outgoing number is not the dialed number its the GV number. I have had some other strangeness also. Hope the coming updates fix stuff. Works great with my moto droid :p

Even though it FC at boot, mine seems to function just fine. If when you call out it's using a different number, that is because you have it set to use GV whenever you call out.

So far, GV has worked for me flawlessly. I LOVE having unlimited texting and not having to pay for it. :)

Sure, however it is suppose to show the correct photo and dial out number on the call screen. Not the GV number.

The way it functions on my Motorola droid is this (and intended to function IMHO);

After dialing a pop-up shows up notifying me I am using GV and reports the GV dial out number. The phone displays the contact info stored on the phone, or the number I type if it is not a stored contact.

..another thing to is with my Motorola droid It integrates into the phones setup > call settings.

I'm still a bit confused on how apps are built with android seeing its only day three for me, seems apps are phone specific. I would have thought they were OS specific. Facebook for my eris and my moto droid are very different in the way they integrate.
