google wallet mail about prepaid balance

So what the heck is google trying to say in the mail I just got about the prepaid card going away? It sure sounds a lot like I have to spend exactly the 96 cents I have left or they will start charging me 2 dollars a month. At that rate it won't take long for them to get back the $10 they gave me .

Sort of conflicting statements. In one paragraph they say the card will disappear after 10/12. The next paragraph says you won't be charged if you spend the balance by 10/17. How can they deduct money from a balance that doesn't exist?

Hence my question .

The web page is even worse. It says they won't have any information about the additional options till the drop dead date actually arrives. How nice for people who might want to weigh different options...

The FAQ is also totally lacking in any answers to questions like: "Hey google! How do I virtually shred my card and eradicate my wallet account? (The few cents left is part of the $10 you gave me - you can keep it if you'll just leave me alone.)"

I didn't understand the e-mail either, plus I missed the part about them charging $2 bucks a month! What to do?

It means if you don't spend you're free money they gave you you'll lose it.


You can also request your money back if you actually put anything on the prepaid card

Yeah, I keep forgetting I still have free money on my N7, usually I use my GNex for purchasing via wallet.

I complained about the obscure email to google (after the hours of google searches required to find a google wallet customer service email address , and the slightly less confusing response I got claims the $2 charge is only for the prepaid card and will come out of that card's balance. Somehow I can still imagine that google will want to send me a bill for $1.10 when they take the remaining $0.90 out of my prepaid card's balance after 30 days .
