Google Wallet now Available through the Market**

won't work. says "item not available with your carrier".

no surprise. vzw has their own electronic wallet in the works called ISIS.

so this works on any of those grey keypad cc swipe things at the store?

No. It works with any of the swipe things at stores that also have a pad (usualy just a large flat area) for the RFID cards. You will see thing with a variety of signs. One is sort of like the wifi logo, the other says mastercard paypass or something like that. If you go to a McDonalds (I do not advocate actually eating there....) and look at the sign in the door that has all the credit cards they accept, you will see all of the different symbols for wireless credit card payment.

I lied. It does work. Need to sign out of your account. Goto market via browser. Search Google wallet and click on the wallet icon not the install button. Login through the market and type in your account information don't auto login. Click on browser and it will take you to the wallet screen. Click the back button then choose login through market and it will allow you to download it. Cheers.

hmm, severely limits the use, as i hardly see those. thanks for the info...

I had side loaded Waller a while ago and decided to give this a try, just so I can get updates on the app whenever El Goog pushes them out. After I uninstalled the side loaded Wallet the market version went on with no problems whatsoever. Just follow the instructions, it takes the phone a minute or two to initialize the app the first time. After that no issues.

I just uninstalled the side loaded one and installed from the market. Brought my existing pre-paid card info in with no problem from the old app.

Hmm. I get as far as the "choose which device to install" and it says not available on my carrier. Not the end of the world, I only used it once.

Anyone have a link to the side loaded one? The one from the original thread here was on MegaUpload so... well... for obvious reasons if you've been following the news it doesn't work.

I was having a LOT of trouble trying to get this downloaded. Every time I clicked the icon in the browser, it took me to the market where it told me it wasn't supported by carrier. I did this about 10 times and it never worked. Then I found out that if you long press the icon in the browser and open in a new tab than it will work. Try that if it keeps frustrating you.

also is there a list of places that use NFC? And will visa ever be supported?

I can't get this to work.

  1. Navigate to market.android.com (not signed in)
  2. search for "google wallet"
  3. Select "browser"
  4. Click on Google Wallet icon (not install button)
  5. Select browser
  6. Sign in manually (remember me NOT checked)
  7. Select browser
  8. Select browser a second time
  9. Back button
  10. Select Market

I get "This item isn't available by your carrier."

What am I doing wrong?
