Google Wallet question, add money to it?

Just called Google. Its just as you said. It cannot be combined. If you get down below $1, or an amount that there are no items to be had... you just lose that amount...

I've got my initial $25 from the Nexus offer down to 5 cents. I guess that's about the best I can expect. It would be interesting to have a thread to see who ends up with what left at the end. See if anyone can zero out or not.

Cool. I'll see if it pulls from the account when you use up the $10. I may go out tonight to experiment :D

I tried this last night with Paypass. I've decided that Wallet is more hassle than it is worth and I've let my pre-paid card get down to 15 cents. Now mind you, I've refilled that card several times. I went to pay for a soda expecting it to at least pull what remained then let me choose another card to finish it out. It won't even do that. If you don't have the amount being asked for, it just flat out denies you.

So this means that in order to finish off your pre-paid balance, you have to know how much is in there then pay all except that amount by some other means then finish with your Wallet balance. Or something like that. Just another way Wallet is a pain to use for me.

Thanks for that info. Although it may also depend where you use it. A vending machine I don't believe is programmed to accept a partial payment.

I have yet to see a vending machine with NFC around here. This was at a BP station run by some guys who have Wallet equipped phones themselves. Between the three of us, we get to try out anything we can think up.

So I went to 711 last night and made a 24 dollar purchase. The first 10 bucks came from my N7, the rest from my GNex. Interesting...

Not sure what GNex is, but are you saying that if I buy something for $15, the first $10 is on Google, and the remaining $5 will come from the card they have on file?

GNex=Samsung Galaxy Nexus;)

I think it would depend on the POS (point of sale) terminal.

I keep forgetting to test it out. I'll have to remember next time.

I ride a motorcycle, so I rarely have the tablet with me when I'm out.
