Help google windows

I seem to have or I have a little icon next to my open google web page that says, 18, how do I close all those pages?

Please and thank you.

when I tap on it, a lot of windows come under each other but when I click the minus on the right hand side. nothing happens, they don't close.

so how do I close all those open pages.

Are you referring to Chrome?

Click the "18" and either click the "X" in the upper right hand corner of each one -OR- swipe the tab to the left/right (off of the screen) to close it.
