Google is currently rolling out an update to their phone application that actually makes it compatible with some of the newer Android devices on the market right now.
Phandroid did some testing and discovered that it worked with the Galaxy S6, Samsung Galaxy S7, HTC 10, LG G4, and Huawei Mate 8. If you find out that it works with any other device, be sure to let us know.
