Accessories Gorilla Gadgets extended battery

Am still waiting for the cradle.

But, please share any info on a case or cases for the extended battery!
 
i just received mine it took exactly 1 day to get here..as i ordered it on wednesday night..they shipped it yesterday and i just received it... its at 69% i'll post my opinions later :D
 
Much to my surprise I got my battery in yesterday's mail. I took phone off charger at 7:30 AM and after using Winamp for about 2 hours and moderately playing Words with Friends and Angry Birds at 7:16 PM I am at 60% battery left. This is definately much more improved life than with the OEM battery. Only negative (small one to me) is that the door provided with the battery is a hair off from fitting snug in the bottom right hand corner. Given that the battery life is much better I don't so much mind the small seperation on the door. I definately recommend this to fellow board members.
 
i gave my ipod to my dad and i been using my evo as my main music source so i connect it thru bluetooth with my stereo in my car... drive to school for one hr..txt all day at school from 7am-5pm play music on my way home.. check some emails..a few phone calls and im still at 30% right now.. the battery door fits a little loose frm the right side i think one of the hinges is missing but i love the battery life best $25 i spent
 
After all the great reviews I thought I'd give it a try, sounded too good to be true. After charging the first one for 8+ hours, turned it on and screen went black, and would not turn back on, even after a reboot. Called GG and they said it must be defective. Received a replacement after about 5 days. Battery # 2 same problem, called GG and mailed both back as they requested and was issued my partial refund, for all my troubles and inconvenience, they don't even refund my $2.50 original shipping and handling, not to mention the return freight. That's not 100% satisfaction to me! Did not work with Droid 2, went with a Seidio, you get what you pay for, don't waste your time.:mad:
 
I got the droid 2 and I got this battery. Def big improvement . Tried the motorola ext battery and it didn't do much at all and that cost me over 50$. So I went with this monster from gorilla gadgets and with constant use, texting, bluetooth, gps, and pandora playing all day while I'm at work it would last 9 hours. Plus in my opinion the phone was a little too small for my big hands and with this battery it fills out.

My only drawback is that the plastic part that covers the battery breaks kind of easy and I cannot find a case that can accommodate this battery.
 
I have been looking at these gorilla gadgets batteries for my evoSHIFT and was wondering about the quality since I haven't heard about gorilla gadgets and it's pretty cheap (price wise). You guys convinced me to try it.
 
I saw the case for the htc. Sure wish they had one for moto x. They offer the "holster"for the x. I bought one of these and I hate it!! Hard to get phone in and out of and no protection. Would be easy to drop phone getting it in and out of holster. I cany even find a case that fits on my belt with velco closure. They are all too small for the x.
 
I like the GG battery. Have had it two days. Makes my x last much much longer. Tthey should never have sold the x with such a short nattery life. Thats nuts. Like having a car with a 2 gallon gas tank. Wht were they thinming? We were just going to use it for a paperweight?? Crazy. So we allbuy extendedbatteries and guess what.... no cases to fit now. I mean what do they pay their r and d people for?? Such a nice phone and so poorly thought out.

I don't really remember how I ran into Gorilla Gadgets but I remember I did stumble upon them accidentally after purchasing my Samsung Epic 4G. I already knew the stock battery would do no justice since I have never seen any handheld devices do well with battery life, especially when it comes to phones. I don't know why they just don't use better batteries to start with. I guess they're hoping you'll buy an extra one or they are competing for the slim look. Personally I want a phone that will last all day.

Well, when I first saw the 3500mAh for about $25 I figured it was going to be some cheap chinese knock off. Funny since the majority of all electronics are coming out of there anyway. The real difference is in Quality Control. So, I bought the battery and I also purchased the belt clip holster since it was only $10. What I didn't like was that there was no picture but from the description it sounded a lot like the one I purchased from Seidio which I loved.

It all came 1 day earlier than tracking said and I tested it right away. I am constantly on this thing so I don't expect it to last for more than an hour or so. (Not joking about the constant use) I have the time right now to play with this and run it through bootcamp and have 9 days left to decide if I am going to keep the Epic.

Even though I run this battery through the swamp I only have to charge it once during the day and then I just let it charge when I go to bed. Now some might think this isn't a good battery but seriously, I am on the phone doing something more than off. The stock battery wouldn't last an hour with the same use so I give Gorilla Gadgets battery, especially for the price and the cover a BIG THUMBS UP!!!! Great customer service, great product and as long as they have an item I am looking for I will go through them.

Oh, and if I would have gone my typical Seidio route I would have easily paid over $100 for the same items except they don't have a 3500mAh battery, only the 3300mAh for $75 and their back cover goes all the way up the phone which I don't like. The Gorilla one goes just past the battery and drops down. Oh and I forgot to mention that the belt clip holster is the one I prefer over all of the other types. Here's the strange part about the holster though. Not a bad thing but actually great. I tried putting the stock battery and back cover on and put it on the belt clip holster and it also fits snugly. The description says that "it also works with out extended batteries" which I didn't pay too much attention to. That was a bonus for me.

Now I just have to find a great phone/extra battery solution. This way I can charge the phone and the extended battery. I'm actually thinking of just buying another battery for back up purposes since currently I have too much time to be on the phone running it through its paces so I won't have to be tethered when the first half of the day is gone. This is where I may have to go back to Seidio unless I can find another company that I can trust will give me a quality product and customer service. I have a history with Seidio so I'm not worried about them and they do have a solution that might work for me.

The reason I may not go with the Sync Dock is because I don't know if the phone with the extended battery will fit in the Slot. I will contact Gorilla and find out if it does. If not I'll be going with solution B at Seidio.

Well I hope this helped out anyone else wondering about the quality and/or customer service of Gorilla Gadget even after all the other great reviews of this company and its product, namely the 3500mAh battery. I'll post my review on the Sync Dock if it turns out to be my best option. It's only a $4 difference between that and the Seidio option.

I bought two of these batteries maybe 6 months ago for two evo 4g's. It's been a great battery, but recently, both phones have started power cycling. One more than the other, but it's picking up pace.

A factory reset didn't fix the issue until I put back the stock batteries. Cycling has stopped.

Anyone else have or seen this problem?

I'm still a newbie with the Smartphone and Android but can you tell me what "Power Cycling" is? That's a new term for me. I've had my Gorilla extended batteries for almost a month now and it's been working great. Definitely better than the stock one but what I've been doing is alternating batteries so the stock one doesn't go to waste since I use my phone quite a bit. Maybe once you explain what power cycling is I can keep an eye out and see if I have that problem down the road.

Have you tried getting in touch with Gorilla and seeing if they know anything about it? They do have great customer service. Can't hurt to check and they may even offer you some kind of replacement. The worse that can happen is that there isn't anything they can do. Seems like they are trying to be a good company and they can't do that without the support of their customers. Take care.

I just started using this battery today. When I got it, it was at 69%. I let it drain completely and then I charged it. 20 minutes after charging it, i'm at 99%. That can't be right.

Has anyone else experienced this?
 
Maybe it's just my luck, but there seems to be a 1 in 3 chance of getting a battery that works. The first battery was for use in the HTC EVO 4G. The battery caused the phone to freeze when it was turned on, and would then shut itself off. Gorilla Gadgets sent me a replacement battery within a couple days, and this battery seemed to work as it should. I was so happy with the battery's performance in the HTC EVO that I bought an extended battery for my Samsung Nexus S 4G. The battery worked great for about three days before my phone shut itself off and stayed off. I tried to remove and replace the battery and the phone would not turn on. I then tried to put the original battery back in and still the phone would not turn on. Trying to charge the battery also did nothing to correct the issue. I brought the phone into a Sprint Service Store and I was told that the circuits were fried and I would have to get another phone. Luckily, the phone is still under warranty and I do not have to pay full price to get another phone.

After the phone died I decided to use a multi-meter to see how much voltage is coming out of the battery. The original Nexus S battery had 3.78 volts while the Gorilla battery had 3.98 volts. I decided to test the Gorilla battery that's in the HTC EVO and it had 4.08 volts (EVO also uses a 3.7 volt battery). Needless to say, I took the Gorilla battery out of the EVO immediately and went back to the original battery.

I am not an electrician, but I think the Nexus S is either very sensitive and the 0.20 extra volts shorted the circuits, or maybe the battery somehow surged and shorted the phone's circuits. The phone was not on a charger when it stopped working and I did not drop it, spill liquid on it, or anything else. So all signs point towards the battery as the cause of the short circuit.
 
Hey, just received my battery for evo 3d and the instructions say to first charge for 8 - 10 hours before using. However, when I put the battery in my phone it was at 60%. I'm afraid to charge for 10 hours on top of this already charged 60% battery. I plan to follow the instructions to run 3-5 full cycles but I think I should let this 60% drain first. What did you do when you first popped your battery in? I read your follow up posts but didnt see this addressed. Thanks!
