Gorilla Glass / Any scratches yet?

This thread is for people like me, who ARE NOT using screen protectors. Just wondering if anyone in this forum has any scratches on their Captivate screen and if so, from what? I've had my Captivate since the beginning of August and do not have one scratch on the screen. Feel free to share your stories.....

not 1 scratch on the screen....it remains flawless and i havent used any screen protector (or case even).

one thing i do notice, is that there is a tiny bit of wear on the top curve above the glass near the usb hatch

no protector, no case, no scratches. aint nothing like the actual phone, not a fan of cases or screen protectors, had it since release day

it gets itchy but no scratches yet.......lol

That was _terrible_ but also so awesome at the same time :D

Me neither. No case, no screen protector, phone is OOTB minty fresh.

*However*, I'm pretty careful with my phones, it's at the house 98% of the time, I keep it in an isolated front pocket. I never set it down unless it's on a microfiber cloth/bag (I use Oakley bags).

All that being said, I'm still thinking about one of those Otterbox rigs.

Never got a scratch on mine, but then again I've had iPhones since the day they came out and never had a single scratch on a screen on those either. Then again, I don't make a habit of keeping my phones in the same pocket that I keep my uncut diamonds in.

Nope, nothing on my phone. Not even a hairline scratch. No case, no screen protector, nada.

I'm also not one to overly protect the phone from objects that could potentially scratch the screen or phone in general. I just handle it normally like I would and have with any phone. My previous phone (iphone 3G) I handled the same way and by this time had small little scratches. I must say, I am very impressed with it's durability.

Six weeks and no scratches here. I did have a screen protector (Real Look) on for about four days, worked great. I took it off because I like the feel of the glass better. I keep a mini micro cloth with me to wipe the screen. I carry the phone empty pockets screen facing inward. I do have (Bodyglove) for body protection. :)

This screen is very hard to scratch. If you HAVE scratches on your screen, please let us know HOW you got them or how you "think" you got them. Any info you can give will be appreciated, thanks... So far it seems like a majority of users are having no issues with scratches! Good to know....

50 days no scratches (knocked on wood). Did have a screen protector for a week but took it off. Love the naked glass. I am pretty careful with it though. Dedicated pocket for phone only.

**edit** Yay no more probation!!!!!!

anyone got a Youtube link of that Korean guy putting his Cappy in a bag of screws and nails, scratches it with an Xacto then drops it from 5'?

I got a minor scratch on my phone 3 days after I got it when I accidentally put my keys in the same pocket as my phone. You can only see it when you have the phone turned off. Now I have a screen protector.

Eight weeks and two days ... Not a mark on it.

Normally I wouldn't even use a case, but I put a Body Glove on it. The reason is it makes the back of the phone perfectly flat, which I like. In addition I was very impressed with it's fit and finish.

No screen protector. I keep it in my pocket, I hate belt clips. Frankly as picky as I am, I just cannot say enough good things about the Captivate. I'm truly enjoying it.

I prefer it over my iPhone 4 and my Droid X. As much as I like the largest display currently available, the 4.0" display of the Captivate is indeed the sweet spot.

I have a tiny scratch from dropping it a few hours before I got my screen protector. I wish the protector had been already in-place to take the nick but such is luck.

I saw my friend's Vibrant last night and he had a screen protector on it. It made the screen brightness/colors look crappy. At first I couldn't figure out why my screen looked so much better since they are basically identical phones.

Since first Sunday in August. No screen protector. No case. No scratches.

I carry it in my left front pocket. I treat it with care. Nothing hard like keys or coins go into the same pocket with the phone.

I find it annoying that I frequently have to rub it on my shirt to get rid of the fingerprints.

After having constant reception problems with her iPhone 4, my wife asked to borrow my Captivate. So I used my Droid X while she was trying the Samsung. She ended up asking me to pickup one for her.

She's a bit rough with her phones so I put a Boxwave screen protector on it. I'm really impressed since it's very clear, no air bubbles, and it applys without water or any solutions. It's also easy to reposition in order to get it on straight.
