gorilla glass

Regardless of how strong the glass is, my $439 phone would be getting a film to protect it's screen.

Indeed. It's still possible to scratch Gorilla Glass. There's also stuff that can build up on the screen from basic use, and after awhile it can be difficult to completely clean off.
 
Verizon says no, not Gorilla glass. With some complaining of glossy finish, just get the standard screen protectors and it cuts the glare.
 
I actually wouldn't be surprised if the inc2 does have gorilla glass. Corning lists the Inc S and Thunderbolt as having it, and I would be surprised if the 2 didn't have it.
