Root Got an update text

Any other rooted users get this text:

Free VZW Msg. Your Droid Incredible was sent the Android 2.2 software update including Adobe Flash 10.1. Click for more info: Droid 2.2 Update

I didn't even install legit 2.2, still running Frankenrom B5. Just thought it was interesting. No sign of it anywhere, just the message.

Yeah, I got it last night.

When the update comes thru how do you know. About two weeks ago I got a message saying update now, update later, more information.. when I clicked update now, nothing happened. was that the 2.2 update? or something else?

Yeah, i got the same thing. I'm thinking it's just a generic notice sent possibly to those that "haven't upgraded yet", but I've had froyo for some time now

what was the file size? If it was around 160 mb then it is probably another notice for the same froyo build...if it is significantly lower then it it different

No file came through, just a text saying it was pushed to my phone. That's impossible however since I'm rooted and on a custom Rom. I've been watching the ota update failures show up on Logcat for the past several weeks. I just got a kick out of it and was passing it along. They act like they really did something here but it's evidently just a generic message to Incredible owners. Maybe they've concluded the OTA push nationwide IDK.

I got the message on my rooted phone on a custom ROM, my wife on completely stock never been rooted incredible didn't get the message.

Got an upgrade notification in my text messages today as well! Hit , settings, about, check for updates and it said phone is currently up to date. Duhhhh!
