Got Gingerbread update as I slept.. but having 4GLTE problems on VZW

Good morning,

I received the Gingerbread update last night as I slept (which killed my battery, and I woke up to dead phone)... I replaced with fresh battery and started it up. Everything was good, expect 4GLTE AND 3G connections only last for a few minutes. Usually I can go into Airplane mode to reset 4GLTE connection, but that isn't working. The only think that will give me back 4G connection is taking out the battery. I called VZW, they didn't have any solutions and said they were getting numerous calls about the problem and only suggested to battery pull. Anyone else having same problem? Have suggestions or solutions?

Hi Topflight

Did you try to do a Factory reset ? Give it a try .

Settings -->Privacy --> Factory Reset .

ALthough a factory reset will delete all the user data . Give it a shot and update the thread if the device camps on 4G or not ?

I have been running the VZ Software Upgrade Assistant; it keep saying there is no update.

Please help,

thanks ahead of time

Steve

The VZ folks sent me a new sim card, in setting up the card I ask the customer service person about the GB update. He suggest check for the update using the phone settings, I had been using the VZW PC application). And sure enough the phone found the update.

Added text:
I installed the update this morning, parked 1/4 mile from the tower. Everything worked OK, except there was a couple of extra times I needed to restart the phone to let it finish the install. The installation application, which runs in the background with no indication of activity (in my case) does not finish with the first phone restart.

So far everything looks good, as other have pointed out the browser is faster, the power meter is white and there is a new startup animation.
