Got It......It's fast....it's really REALLY fast...

Did you try the new exchange application?
How does it perform?
If you did - are the exchange calendar and contacts also synced with Gmail/ GCalendar ? That would be a first.

Also, I have noticed some Samsung devices finally implemented Divx / Avi compatible players native on their Samsung Android. Do you happen to know if the Nexus One video player supports Avi files? Is it a good Video Player at all?

Sorry if we are getting picky with questions, the fact is you already answered all the basics :D hehehe thanks a lot!

Yeah, that was the rumour... but it hasn't been confirmed yet by anyone who has actually used it... as far as I know.

I kind of doubt it will do A... therefore there will be little reason for it to do N. I thought I had read the max data transfer it could process wirelessly was 7.5 MB, which is b/g .... it will be compatible with N of course due to the 2.4ghz nature of most wifi devices, but won't need the N branding cuz it won't ever reach those speeds anyway.

As for exchange...it worked fine and synced in my work email but the crappy part is it didn't pull in my exchange calendar. That's a big big issue for me because it's the only one that I really use. Now I'll be missing all of my work meeting schedules.

Do you have any sites I can go to or files online where I can try to view an AVI file? If you send me something I'll test it for you. So far I've plalyed a bunch of youtube videos and it looks really good. The picture quality is pretty impressive.

Everyone can feel free to keep these questions coming!!!

Have you discover any bugs or glitches so far? Do you have an update on the battery life? What are you impressed with the most?

Just a few minor glitches.

1. Email: Two times 2 days ago I went in to my email and it was all blank. Everything disappeared and it kept giving me a Force Close option. I had to delete the account and reinstall.

2. When I'm in these forums and replying on the phone and select the input text field, I get the zoom (+ - ) option to come up...but it's in the middle of the page. Sometimes selecting the input text field can be kind of a pain if there is already a lot of text in it. Slightly annoying because I love the magnifying glass zoom on the long press on iphones.

Battery life is equivalent to the iphone. I've been pushing this phone a lot with downloads, installing apps, browsing online etc. It's nothing crazy, but gives me about the same life as my iphone which isn't GREAT...but I can deal with it. Good idea to take a chord with you to plug in to your laptop while at work.

I will say though, from the few times I've tried to charge it, I don't think it charges as quickly as the iphone. I may be wrong though, but can't completely confirm.

I keep going back to the screen resolution and the speed. It surpasses any device I've used so far. I really like it a lot...plus it definitely catches eyes when you're out. I've had a few people in starbucks and barns and noble ask me what phone it was. It's pleasing to the eye.

I really like the speak to text as well. I'd say it works at about a 8 out of 10. Definitely saves time.

Navigation is a killer man...works really well. I used it while driving the other day and it's pretty good.

Hello I would first like to thank you for answering all the questions and dealing with the people at the beginning of this thread. I joined here just so I could see the pictures. I have a few questions of my own.

Are there any major glitches with the phones that you have experienced?
How many apps are on it and how is it running?
Is it still fast with multiple apps running?
How long did the battery lasted?

PS @t-mizzle I saw you on the Tmonews forums that is also where I found the link to this topic.

Hey thanks man, I appreciate it. I just want to give everyone as much info as possible.

As for the glitches, I just posted it in the post above.

So far I have 36 apps on it, and it's still running as fresh as it did when I took it right out of the box. Still runs fast and no hanging. I had a few issues with a couple apps that would never open, but after reinstalling a few times all worked well. I don't think it was the phone to be honest...but I'm not the pro so who knows.

Battery life I'm not 100%. Today I took it out the house about 50% charged around 5pm and just got in about 30 minutes ago and it just went dead. I'd say in a average day, taking it to work and coming home...you'll get about a good 11-12 hours tops if you're using it a ton. I've been doing a boat load of surfing the web on it to test, and in all fairness I can honestly say it's about the same as the iphone.

How'd you get it man? Amazing that you got it. I'm thinking about getting it, but I dunno cause of the lack of a physical keyboard.

I'm curious, does the media player support characters other than the traditional English ones? I ask because I have a number of Greek songs on my phone with the ID3v2 tags written in Greek and, on Android 1.5, most of the letters come out as ?

Hey guys:) i am a little bit crazy in texting messages and i need a lot of storage for them:) so don't you know, how many messages can be saved in smartphones like this??

thanx a lot and sorry for my bad english:)

Hi 3rd-geer..
You're doing a real good job of quenching everyone's curiosity abt the N1. Appreciate it.

I don't mean to double post but I guess you missed my earlier post with a query so here goes - While using earphones, how's the sound quality on the N1 as compared to the iphone/ipod touch/ipod??

Something like infinite.

Exchange: Download TOUCHDOWN from the market, free 5 day trial then you have to pay. Only app I ever bought from the market, but well worth it.
Push exchange e-mail, calendar, contact sync, etc.

Video Player: Can anyone help with a link for a short DIVX video?

Hate to tell ya man, but physical keyboards are becoming obsolete. Very few phones in the coming years will have physical QWERTY keyboards. On-screen keyboards are the future of phones, whether you like it or not. Might as well get use to it now.

Can't say exactly how I got it but I got lucky, lol. Don't worry about the lack of the keyboard....it's pretty accurate. Plus there is talk to text if you REALLY don't want to type anything at all. Just hit the mic, and speak in to it for emails, text input, any area where you can type....you can talk instead.

Sorry I missed this question earlier. Trying to tackle as many as possible so feel free to post questions as often as you want until it's answered, lol.

I'm no sound specialist and I've been using the cheap headhpones that each phone comes with, and they sound similar. Nothing really stands out to me. In terms of the speaker phone though, the more and more I use them both the more I feel like the Nexus one is a lot louder.

Sounds through the headphones seem about the same to me. If you know of any pure type of sound checks I'm all ears and I'll do it for you.

Thanks man!! I'm about to run out the house but I'll definitely check it out.

If you can work on that DIVX video or AVI video link I'll definitely test it for you.

3rd-Geer In the rumored spec sheet is that the headphone jack is 3.5mm 4ring which should be capable of video out (tv), it would b cool if u could check it out. If it do not work then it isnt wired.

Unfortunately I don't have a cable that can do this. It does have the regular 3.5mm headphone jack though. I'm sorry about that man.

But you're saying, if I plug in the appropriate plug I should be able to put it in to the tv.? If so, what would be viewable? Are there any other phones that do this that I can look up so I can see the cable their using?

If you want to donate a few bucks I'll go and grab a cable from RadioShack and test it out.

did you happen to get a chance to test out the phone in sunlight vs the iphone?

I did....not that great to be honest. The iphone and N1 both suck in sunlight. The nice addition on the N1, is there is a toolbar that by default is on the second window to the right of the home page. One of the buttons is a brightner. You can have it set to 3 settings by simply tapping it. Didn't do a hell of a lot because the screen is really like glass (I'm pretty sure it's glass). So their will always be a reflection unfortunatly.
