Got It......It's fast....it's really REALLY fast...

Im answering two questions for you guys and i have one...
Yes, there is an "x" to close the browser and there is a star for bookmarking.
Video says its an Mp4, but how do you know if its a 720p?

I'm not really sure, to be honest. Best bet would be to find out the resolution is it capturing video at.

Record a small video, place it on your PC and check the resolution that way?

I wasn't one of the people who was asking about 720p. Sorry. :(

If there is no way to find out within the phone, try recording at the highest setting than transfer the phone to a computer and check the file's properties for resolution, or even load it into the a video editing software to double check the resolution.

Now I'll repost my post form above for the poster above:

If anyone doubts him, you should doubt him much less. Check the first page, someone asked him to take a picture of a a pop can, Nexus one and a tv remote. He did so at 6:13, go back to the first page. Worst case scenario, he had temporary access to the phone, all he said would still be valid.

If I put my tin foil hat on, there is still a minor possibility that he has a 2nd membership here and he prepared a photo shopped picture in advance and then conveniently used his second account to ask himself to post proof by requesting the items to be in the picture which he had faked in advance. If you are buying into this theory, you don't need Nexus one info, you need to stop reading my post right now and take your medication.

Not directly answering the 720p and app questions invites doubt. But the man has a life and a wife. I think he is concerned about privacy of his source hence he is not posting the info he was asked for.

Unless his real name is Rick Astley, I say he still has forum creds.

Back to topic, here is a thread from AC, this guy says it does 720p:

So I held a Nexus One today... - Android Community Forums

On a serious level guys....I haven't bs'd on anything I've said. Take it or leave it...it's your choice. I got the phone today and figured I'd loop everyone in on shit that I would have wanted to know. It's not like I'm going to take a snap shot of the phone next to my dick so that everyone can verify. I'm trying to do everyone a favor here and do something that I would have loved to have seen...which is have someone get the phone and post as much info on it as possible.

I've verified by all of the posts and pics I've given. There are a shit load of questions, so I'm sorry if I don't hit them all. If people want you can wait to get the phone yourself....it's not my loss...I have it and I didn't have to share shit.

That being said...

As for the 720p video...I'm honestly not sure. How can I verify on the phone if it does this or not? If I get any help here I can verify.

As for going back to the home screen...it's fast regardless. I've downloaded about 14 apps now and have them spread out across my pages. Going in and out like a champ. I did however get a force close about 4 times when I went in to my wifi settings. I'll also add that the animations are really smooth going in and out of apps. There is a bursting kind of effect...like everything flies on the screen or off the screen on open and close.

I also noticed that when I installed Layars it keeps taking me straight to a force close page. Not sure if there is an issue with the app running on this phone, or if there is an issue with the app at this moment live. (shrugging).

For some weird resons my text messaging doesn't work. I had this same issue on my Hero and I was using this same sim card, so that may be the issue. I plan to call ATT tomorrow. This sim was originally in a blackberry some time ago.

What other important questions does anyone need me to try to answer?

wait... are u sayin this phone gives u wood? man... I knew I needed to be fraid of u droidnauts !!

thnx for the info! amazing some people would think anyone actually want's to spend time doing what yer doing just to fool others... ya'll need psychiatric help ya know!

Phone does not give the resolution only the file size

even after transfering it to a pc? try using different players and look for file info within the player's menu. vlc media player should do that, don't know about default media player.

On a side note, how can one tell if the upcoming phone is good?

When a chat room is more appropriate for discussions than a forum.

5 screens and yes there is an "x" to close out and also a star for bookmarking.

After selecting Wallpapers you have 3 options

- Live Wallpaper: There are 10 animated wallpapers as per my earlier post
- Photographs: You can select your own
- Wallpaper Gallery: 25 different images

Also, there is no "x" to close out and no star for bookmarking the wallpapers....are you referring to contacts?

I'm kind of disappointed that he decided to listen to some random poster, rather than an moderator of this forum. Carl C asked a simple request of legitimacy, and he was ignored all three times. I'm sorry, but it's hard to take the OP seriously when he not only avoids unique questions but also states info that is readily available on the web.

Caddyman proved on the 1st page of this thread that the whole "user name and date" picture can be photoshopped, so who cares? If you need 9 different types of proof from him to believe he's legit, then stop reading this thread.

There was a question about the browser...pay attention. :)

Phone does not give the resolution only the file size

When I tun on the camera mode and switch to video you go right in to landscape mode. There is a slider on the left side that you can pull out. When you do that you have onky 4 options

- Video Quality: When you select this your options are Low (for MMS messages) and High (for SD card)

- Video duration: You can set to only 3 options. 30 seconds (for mms), 10 minutes, and 30 minutes. Default is 10 minutes.

- White balance (same as photos)

- Color effect (same as photos)

After you take a video if you press the second "touch button" on the phone you get a screen that says details...if you press that you are given information about the video you just shot.

This is AFTER you shoot your video and go to play it back.

If you can't get the resolution info, just transfer the video to a pc and check for properties. Since it's mp4, all media players should give you the detailed info.

Video duration? I don't get it..why?

And the pic I shopped I did in like 2 minutes including taking the pic with my digicam as I was walking out the door earlier...lol

Thanks just did it. So I shot 20 seconds and got the following:

File Size: 4.93 MB
Duration: 00:20
Frame Rate: 24 fps
Bit rate: 2.00000 Mbps
Format: video/MP4V-ES
Date taken: 12/28/09 11:02PM

So I'm assuming the format is where it would have said HD or 720p....right? If so then there is your answer...no 720p.

Transfer the file to a computer and check properties there or in a media player. With a high compression at 2.000000 Mbps bit rate it still might be.

Add me to the list of people who joined to view the pictures in this thread. 3rd-Geer should be the official androidforums.com recruiter.

While I wait for 3rd geer to shift, a bit of speculation: When I worked with movies on the pc, 480p movies (albeit compressed) roughly took up ~7-8 MB per minute. There are many, many factors it depends on but it was a guideline I had to estimate. It's a possibility, according to the length, frame rate and size of the file that it's indeed 720p.

No luck...still the same basic information. Check the image which is a screenshot of the get info on the video.

Also......ever since I started using this on wifi I think...THINK that it's actually taking down my airport signal. Literally every 10-15 minutes I keep losing a connection....I may have to call Apple tomorrow to see what's up.
