Got It......It's fast....it's really REALLY fast...

1. Cool long as it has it somewhere.

2. Yup Im familiar. Glad they implemented something "Sexier". Love the premise of the design.

Also. This is a rather large file 17 mb but its an HD trailer ripped off YT. 720p.

Wondering if it will playback on Nexus since it seems recording maxes out at 480p.

Thanks.

Ok so odd thing here. I found every area possible to drop the file in my phone...after unmounting and checking around....nada. I can't find the file at all. Any advice on a folder to put it in guys?

Thanks

Just read your blog review 3rd Gear, good stuff :)
Still two major questions for me...
DivX Support?
and this rumor about video output in the headphone jack?
I just made a post above this one in my last entry about testing a divx video that was posted on here. I put it on the phone after mounting but can't find it anywhere when I try to go and view it. Maybe this means it's unreadable?

Any advice on where I may want to drop it and where to play it from?

I saw on pictures red dots at the bottom of the phone, do you know what they are?

They are bronze.....I think they are the noise cancellations. Here is a pic I just took of the bottom of it.

Check the attached...I made about 25 pics all in hires that I'll post tomorrow with a full review.

I promised the review to a blogger, and he just posted it on his site tonight. I also promised I'd wait until tomorrow to post my own.

gold plated contacts for a docking system.

Oh no sh-t is that what it is really? I kept hearing it was noise cancellation? So when I look at the phone there is no other area at all on the whole thing that can be the noise cancellation. On the top back of the phone is the speaker....down at the bottom as seen in my photo I just posted is the microphone....other then that...nada.

What site is it at?
Was posted on a seperate site but no worries...I'm going to start a new thread here since this is where I started it all for everyone....so everyone can stay here and continue to post while I answer questions.

You're the one with the phone ;-) but typically noise cancellation is done with two mics, one on the front and one on the back... may be different with this device though.

Hey 3rd-Geer thanks allot for your feed back. I was wondering if you can take some sample photos and videos ( Definitely video ) from the camera and post them up here. If not im just curious of the video resolution the phone can record

I dont think that is a divx file :(
best way to get a divx file would be something leagal on thepiratebay.org

Been discussed earlier, 480p.. which is something like 720x480

Here are 2 sample photos that I took today. No videos at this time though, because they are too large to post on this server and I don't want to post on mine.

As you can see...photos are decent...Not SUPER...I think the iphone shoots better photos and video.

Does it have the flip to silent that HTC uses on some of its other phones and Nokia just added to its E72? (if a call is coming in you flip the phone over and it silences the ring just for that call)

Also, somebody recommended Touchdown for Exchange access, another app is Roadsync. Roadsync has been around for a long time on other platforms.

Just checked...it doesn't actually have that flip to silent mode. Unfortunately you have to pres the top power button, like you do on the iphone.

Thanks for the Roadsync comment. I see it online but I don't see it in the Market. Hmmmm...which one would you recommend installing? Obviously the N1 isn't there, lol. I don't even see Droid.

Also I checked out Touchdown...the crappy part is it doesn't import your calendar info in to the actual calendar on the device. That sucks. I deleted it because I don't want to keep opening up a seperate app like that for my information.

Ok, just noticed on the Roadsync site that it doesn't support Android 2.0 yet. Maybe that is why you don't see the droid or N1 on there yet. :)

Roadsync is going to be the same way I believe with it opening a separate app for calendar.

As for Touchdown, as an IT Admin for my company this line could be an issue depending on how your company does their Exchange email - "RSA SecurID protected servers are not supported. VPN protected servers are not supported."

As for recommendations. I have never used Touchdown and have only used Roadsync on the Symbian platform. I know Roadsync will make sure the data is secure. I haven't confirmed that with Touchdown and with some solutions faking the secureness of the data these days (see 3G and earlier iPhones for example) I am always concerned about security. But again I don't want to dismiss Touchdown just because I haven't investigated their app yet.

I plan on buying the N1 as my test of the Android platform for our company. Up until now I have not accepted company PIM data on Android devices due to my lack of testing.

3rd-Geer, so you are running it with AT&T EDGE, have you come across any problems or slow internet connection or such since it's not on 3G?

i am with AT&T and don't want to switch to T-Mobile and was thinking about this phone, but without 3G, is it still beneficial to get it?

hopefully the rumors are true that they will also release an unlocked version that's compatible with AT&T 3G network

Honestly I haven't had any connection issues yet. Keeping my fingures crossed, because you know ATT sucks....but it's surely better then t-mobile. The processor makes it a pretty fast phone. I think it's fine to be honest. Wait to see if they come out with a 3G version for ATT. I'd be surprised because you know Apple would throw a shit fit.

Apple would do that, but Google doesn't have to make it specifically for AT&T since other carriers (Telus, Rogers in Canada) uses the same 3G band as AT&T and it would be for more customers, instead of just the people in the USA.

Hey I have T-mobile so I'm happy about the Nexus One! They have cheap plans some decent phones(Samsung Behold. getting a new one by June or earlier depending on Nexus Official pricing) and since I use my phone mostly in CT and the NY Metro area I don't have any issues with 3G, also with HSPA+ coming mid-late year from T-Mobile it would make it even faster so yeah.

I highly doubt a version would go to At&t as you said Apple would throw a fit, but with the iPhone contract expiring by mid year it's a possibility.

I know this isn't quite along the function lines of the rest of the posts on this tread.....

Can you tell me if the N1 comes with a screen protector in the packaging? I know all the myTouch 3Gs do by default and I believe the HTC G2 does as well....wondered if they kept that up with the N1.
