Got It......It's fast....it's really REALLY fast...

There is a difference.

/whatever and /nexus are true 404 errors.
/phone takes you to some google page that doesn't really say much of anything, and /nexus1 and /nexusone takes you to a site with the nexus one logo but an error message saying to check back later.

Noo.. they have taken the sites down now a min after I went there. Here is the screen shot of the support page. Anyway it wil be back up again tomorrow :)

"Nexus One - Getting Started" and "Camera and 3D Gallery" links takes to Youtube and says private video..

From the terms of sale the price is $529 unsubsidized and $179 with contract. But the date shows as 18 Nov on the page

--------
You agree to pay Google an equipment subsidy recovery fee (the "Equipment Recovery Fee") equal to the difference between the full price of the Nexus handheld device without service plan and the price you paid for the Nexus handheld device if you cancel your wireless plan prior to 120 days of continuous wireless service. For example, if the full price of the Nexus handheld device without service plan was $529 USD and the price you paid for the Nexus handheld device was $179 USD with a service plan, the Equipment Recovery Fee you pay will be $350 USD in the event you cancel within the first 120 days of carrier service. The Equipment Recovery Fee is equal to the line item in your confirmation email setting forth the discount on the full priced Nexus handheld device related to your carrier service plan activiation. You authorize Google to charge the Equipment Recovery Fee directly to your credit card, or other payment method used to purchase the Nexus handheld device, upon cancellation of your wireless plan. You will not be charged the Equipment Recovery Fee if you return your Nexus handheld device to Google within the 14 day Return Policy period as set forth below

privacy policy may be suggesting multiple carriers?

If you decide to enroll in a mobile carrier's service plan at the time you purchase a device through the Webstore, we collect some additional information.

  • Eligibility Information - We collect certain information so that a credit check can be performed to determine your eligibility for your chosen carrier's service plans. This information can include your name, address, Social Security Number and other identification information. Google passes the Social Security Number and identification number to the carrier you have chosen if they conduct a credit check, but does not retain this information.

But the privacy policy points to the service plans offered through the google site.. which may mean google has officialy in terms with ATT. That also means ATT might have asked google get a ATT 3G version if not tomorrow but at least in the near future. I do not think ATT would settle for edge whereas T-mobile gets 3G? any thoughts?

MAYBE (big maybe) in later date, there will be AT&T version but tomorrow will be all out UMTS 1, 4, 8 version for Europe/Asia/Oceania/T-mobile
Plus I don't think AT&T cares that much as they have iPhone and XPERIA X10 coming :)

Probably a dumb question but can you confirm the color scheme of this phone? I'm beyond confused after that Engadget hands on, the color of the device seemed to change depending on the lighting. So what is it, gold and bronze? black and bronze? charcoal and gold?...etc etc.

Was this ever answered?
