Got It......It's fast....it's really REALLY fast...

the specs on that Dell Mini 3 seems outdated; ATT will get some of the worst droid phones;

Serious it's like the Jobs-father gave them an okay to use Android but only ones he picked.

I keed, I keed :D

On a serious level guys....I haven't bs'd on anything I've said. Take it or leave it...it's your choice. I got the phone today and figured I'd loop everyone in on shit that I would have wanted to know. It's not like I'm going to take a snap shot of the phone next to my dick so that everyone can verify. I'm trying to do everyone a favor here and do something that I would have loved to have seen...which is have someone get the phone and post as much info on it as possible.

This was from page 2, and it was funny as shit, actually made me LOL. After just reading all 13 pages I noticed that I don't think one person made the expected (YET NECESSARY) comment to fully enjoy it, so without further ado:

Dude the phone would look huge next to your dick (if we could even see it). You do that, and people will think it has a 12" screen.

LOL, I kid of course, but someone had to say something geez.

how bright is the charging light at night?
not bright enough to replace your dinosaur night-light ;)

ROFL, from page 12. I had to keep myself entertained for 13 pages. :D

On a more serious note, with regard to the multi-touch stuff. Since the Nexus One does technically have multi-touch, just none of the software currently uses it (like the messaging and browser etc... unless you download that Dolphin thing...)... Is there an app or will there be an app to download that will make multi-touch work more readily on the Nexus One for texting and what not?

LOL.... well hopefully there will be an app that can add this feature. Would be nice as I'm still trying to do multitouch from time to time by accident from being an iphone user.

3rd geer thanks for the post. I currently am a ATT user with the 32gb 3GS. I am only getting this phone so i can have something different until the new iphone comes out. plus i have been curiuos about android for some time. Is Edge bareable on ATT? I cannot remember lol. I have a verizon mifi device I may use when I am not near a hotspot to get me by.

Lol not rich. Selling my iPhone for 450. Nexus is 560. 110 comes out of my pocket. Most likely I'll resell the n1 if I don't like it. I have an upgrage in July so I can get the new iPhone for 299. I have 6 months to save.

But yeah I like new toys so it's cool for me.

You got one?

Hey, can someone explain to me what the big obsession is with multitouch? I'm not a big iPhone fan but i've used one occasionally and it seems that the only functionality is with web browsing and maybe picture viewing. Is there any other real use for multitouch? Like what's the big deal? And the nexus one supports multi touch (on a hardware level) it only needs to be utilized by software. Can someone explain this obsession/fascination to me?

I think its just missing feature from 'superphone.' its seems most smartphones nowdays have some kind of multitouch. since this is highest end smart phone google released, people expects multitouch functionality. I also think without this multitouch, you can't type fast as iphone does ? any idea on this?

Makes it easier to type since one letter can be typed while the last one is still being pressed.

Would be easier to navigate google maps with pinch and zoom.

IMO its an asbolute must for picture veiwing. Unless you frame all your pics perfectly youre going to want to zoom in on specific portions of the pic. Double tap is good but imprecise. Pinch and Zoom is just mandatory IMO. Luckily there are MT Gallery apps.

haha! that's cool man;)

yeah, if i could do that, i would!

props!

(i like my toys too!)

Why won't google just update android to include this? Seriously? Does Apple legit have a patent on the concept of pinch to zoom?

pending patent. which means (as per another thread I can't be bothered to find called Multitouch) that anyone can put it in their software, except that if the patent is granted, devs will then have to remove it. I'd prefer never to have it than get used to the luxury and have it taken away.

Just to clarify, Apple cannot patent "multi-touch" which is why it is enabled in the API. For that matter, they cannot patent a gesture, such as "pinch." However, what they can (and have submitted a patent for) is a gesture that is linked to a particular function. In this case, pinching for the purposes of zooming in and out, specifically for the application in smartphones/mobile devices.

This makes it not a violation of the originally conceived multi-touch panels, desktops, etc. Apple also went ahead and acquired a company working on the forefront of developing multi-touch for devices. Huge win for Apple. Shortly there after, the iPhone was introduced. These patents for pinch zooming are APPROVED (edit) and at this point are subject to Apple's enforcement of IP.

The other reason why might be because Andy Rubin used to work for Apple. Some have speculated his prior relationship with Apple might be a reason behind not including MT in native Android. Perhaps, he wants to build Android up without any connection to the Apple OS. Could be a pride issue? He dodged the question about MT at the press event. Some said he looked particularly bothered by the question, dismissing it by saying, "They'll consider it."

there have been rumors circulating about it's functionalities in networks and all , my questions for you 3rd-gear , or any other nexus owner is , does the camera really have the same issues as the HD2? i mean the pink halo

Interesting...I haven't heard much about the HD2 because I think it's only out in the UK right? Here I think it's going to be called the Leo...I'm actually getting it this week, so I'll confirm on that...but as for the N1, there is no pink halo...but sometimes indoors it gives a bit of a yellow tint. You have to change the settings to make it clear.
