Hey guys,

Just thought I'd share this funny story with you all.

I just picked up my Galaxy Nexus about an hour ago from Phones4U in Oxford Street in London (even though they increased the SIM free price by

Quick question.

When you pinch to zoom on web pages does it wrap the text to fit the window or just zoom in?

Thanks..

@civicsisedan

Nope. It doesn't text wrap in the browser.

I've come from a HTC Desire HD (HTC Hero before that) where HTC does wrap text and I've always suspected that it contributed to the slight laggy feel in the browser because it just had another thing to think about.

I'm certainly not missing it on the GN. The screen is so high res that I'm finding that I don't have to zoom in as much to read.

double tapped, or enlarged via pinch to zoom, I AM OUT. No flash support, no page auto size, and no removable memory.........what is this thing, an I phone? Page auto fit is essential to web browsing for someone with my eyesight. I do not like this at all. I am hearing that mobile fiirefox will have flash support, does this mean that it could also have an auto fit feature? I hope so, or my Gnex dream just died in front of me.

If it were an iPhone it would sell 10x as much and not be a device mainly for hardcore Android fans. I kid, I kid, or do I? Adobe Flash support for mobile is officially discontinued, not sure what your hang up on that is. I never cared about removing my storage or the battery for that matter to be honest.

I will buy this unlocked for AT&T, can't wait for my third Nexus phone.

Calm down! LOL!
The question about web pages was does the text wrap to fit dynamically as you zoom in ala HTC's android browsers. It doesn't.

Pinch to zoom and double tap work fine.

:)

Is the text wrap while zooming an option in the browser settings? Or is this impossible? ONe thing I love about my Incredible is the text wrap in the web pages.

Couple of questions:

1) In your opinion just how nice is the screen say compared to SG2 or any other high end android phone?

2) What is the overall build quality like?

Cheers

Yes. It is a great feature. Tried bionic and hated how it would not wrap text to fit new window.

Just got rezound and might not return it now. might be deal breaker.

CHILL!

Features will come with updates from Google. A dev will have Flash ported to Nexus soon after Launch Day, if not before.

All is not lost :)

Mine came at 8:30 this morning. Not had much time with it so far but generally pleased.

It looks and feels a lot better than the Nexus S. Generally everything is rapid and the screen is fantastic. I cant say how good it feels to get away from HTC Sense, even with ADW.

I also got mine today. I'm pleased with it but it doesn't do anything my GS2 couldn't do.

I can't believe how overhyped this phone has been. I was hoping it would blow my socks off and leave me drooling for half a day... Yet it fails to impress my in any way. The camera is okay, but is horrid when the lighting isn't just eight.

I'm considering giving it to my wife and go back to my good ol' GS2.

What about the screen size? Does the size justify the physical size of the phone? Is it comfortable to hold and use?

@zafonic
Screen:
The screen is a little bit special. I was always a fan of the iPhone4's screen and the GN screen is just as good AND bigger! It's waaaaaaay better than the SG2 IMO. When you compare the two together side by side the difference is VERY noticeable! There has been a lot of talk about why you'd want this over a SG2 with ICS. The answer is simply the screen resolution. A standard SG2 cannot hold a candle to the GN in terms of screen quality. And after all of the shouting about it not being SuperAMOLED+! Don't worry about that guys...
Build Quality:
I was a little worried about this coming from a HTC stable. I changed from a Desire HD which is a very solidly built device!
The GN is much lighter and to be honest doesn't feel as expensive but it DOES feel as well built. It's solid and the screen feels really nice in the hand.

@civicsisedan
Text not wrapping in the browser is a deal breaker? REALLY?!?! :rolleyes:

This excites me, big time.. A screen of iphone quality but 4.65" :D:D:D

The screen is much better than s2. I like how the system buttons are done especially.

I dont know how you can think the camera is bad. Light is always an issue with any photography. I took a pefectly focused pic in a comletly.pitch black room with flash yesterday.

The screen orientation changes are still slow however...
