Got question

I already know this isnt the place to ask, but im gonna anyways. I am using a HTC droid eris, and everytime i try to hook it to my laptob via usb, my computer tells the "device has malfunctioned" and trust me its not, its running fine, i was just wondering if anyone else had this problem. And could anyone give me a few tips on working this out?

When you plug your Droid Eris in, pull the top bar of the Droid Eris down, and click mount. It should appear as your computer with a name like Unknown or No name etc.
