Root got root back on atrix 2.3.6, now what

what are the steps/prograns i need to do in order backup/restore everything aand ensure this doesn't happen again, next tie they push an update out?

Look on the market for Titanium Backup and OTA Rootkeeper. OTA Rootkeeper is supposed to keep/backup root through a system update from what I've read. Wish I had knew that before I learned the hard way.
