Root Got the 20120704 update to install w/o wiping data

Yes correct. Make sure to backup the rom after you installed the update. Then once you reinstall stock recovery, lock boot loader and rerun the update to update hboot, then you can then reinstall CWM again and restore your backup which should return you to the updated OS with the updated hboot as well.

Did the update and Try to re install CWM with no luck. tried the zip file and the CMD command with no luck. Message keep saying: Main Version is older update failed.

UPDATE: I got the 5028 CWM to work through (CDM) the 5007 wouldnt install and thats the one i like....

If someone wants to do testing, our prl partition should be unlocked where I found it the other day. So you would be able to update it just flashing in cwm. I just don't know if it would affect your guys 4g. It also shouldn't touch data like a fastboot image/zip.
