Help GPS / Crashing?

Hello-

I have upgraded to the official Gingerbread update, and did a factory reset. However, I have found the Google navigation to be unreliable (i.e., locates me off the freeway regularly) and take a long time to get the turn-by-turn screen...sometimes 10 or 20 minutes. It locates me on the route, but just doesn't get that screen up and says at the bottom "Acquiring GPS." Then, maybe 50 to 70% of the time, the system just resets.

This has happened even if I am not running other apps.

I haven't seen anyone else with this issue, so maybe it is just me? I didn't have this problem with the 2.2 version. Anyone else have this, any idea what is wrong?

Having the same issues as you :(
I didn't have this issue with 2.1 or 2.2 either...
GPS never finds me in maps, and never stops "acquiring GPS" in navigation...

Update: Found this thread, and the fix seemed to work very well for me, if anyone has a similar issue:

Tried the methods listed there, with no avail... any other advice?
 
when i bought my captivate it had froyo and the gps only worked once. it took the phone about 30mins to find a gps and i was at my destination already :(

at that time i didn't have a data plan yet lol. once i got the data plan it worked great!

even works better now that i have gingerbread.
