Help GPS deaf to sats

I have just bought a 7" Tab. It's a great machine. I have noticed that the GPS is very "deaf" when trying to find the satellites. My HTC Dezire Z receives 8 sats but the Tab sat next to it only finds one. These tests were carried out using GPS Assist on both devices.
The Dezire Z locked on in seconds, the Tab failed to get a fix.

Any help, or is it just a deaf receiver?

Did u give it a few minutes to find satellites, I have 7in tab wifi only sometimes takes a extra minute or 2 to find gps when using google maps with navagation, but I do use copilot which seems to work better or faster. maybe u have a defective unit

Yours is actually better than mine. I get no GPS whats so ever. I have sat out side on a cloudless sky and no joy. It does work when conected to network. But you know that it does not get right down to the nitty gritty. Were you able to figure yours out. I am going to resort to calling customer service tomorrow and I know I will get no where with that but I am at least hoping I can at least get a new one if this is the case.
