GPS fix Fine v's Course ?

Hi all

Been having real problems with my HTC desire getting a GPS fix…..tried loads of apps etc. to try and fix but unfortunately none worked.

I when look at my location using things like Google maps etc. it always seems to be very close although my gps fix icon on my phone screen keeps flashing (guess what you would call getting a fine fix)

My question is there any way of disabling the need to get this fine fix and just use the ‘course’ one (which as mentioned before is with good enough for me) ????

The main app I use GPS for is Endomondo sports tracker

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Many hanks for your time

Regards

Mike

The "course" fix you are referring to would seems to be a fix from your phone network or wifi network. These can be typically 2000 meters out. A GPS fix is usually accurate to around 20ft.

There is an updated patch for the GPS on the HTC desire which may help your problem.

Just download the zip file and flash it from recovery.

Give this a look at first.
