Root GPS fix?

I'm pretty sure read on xda somewhere that you can flash sine file which makes the device try to get a fix using different satellites. At the moment my device is for Asia ( damn you orange) but according to the article I can change it.
But how? Is it as easy as putting it in my sd, recovery. And flash from zip?

Could you give a link to the XDA thread that you mention?

I got a fix from XDA that involved me changing some text in a file... I'll look when I get home to see if I can find it (just at work at the moment)!

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner... I've had a lot on recently - here is a link to the thread that has info that helped me out.

You never did give the link to the thread on XDA, so sorry if this is the same one you're talking about!!

I haven't really been able to find the link with all the housework I've been doing ( I know, and what makes it worse I'd that I live with 4 other women)....
The page that I found was a flashable zip file, not what you had. I'll try looking for it again later on ;-)
