GPS for off-network phone

I moved across carriers to Verizon and now have an off-network EVO. I'd like to use it as a GPS. Just need to know what the good apps are to try. I went out and bought a $270 Garmin and after using it for a day I couldn't stand the touch screen or the UI. I'm sure that the $399 unit would work better, but with the right app why spend the cash??

Thanks in advance!

CoPilot and Navigon are the usual suspects. Any reason you're asking in the Droid subforum? The Apps subforum gets much more traffic and your question isn't device-specific. There are even existing threads on the topic in that subforum.

Completely subjective. There are plenty that prefer standalone GPS units.

I use CoPilot Live Premium on my phone and on my tablet. I bought it specifically for my tablet, but it works well on my Droid too. Of course, the maps, which are good, are not as up-to-date as Google's, but the package works well, has POI's, alternative routing, etc... I would recommend.
