GPS Hiccup

I was in Boston last night at Fenway for the Red Sox game. While having a few drinks with friends beforehand, I was having a couple issues getting my phone to do what I wanted, and while in facebook there was some funny stuff with Places that was going on.

So I looked in maps to check my Latitude location - and it's no wonder things were wonky - check out the map & then my supposed location. Oops!

However, being in Boston gave me a chance to use 4G - and while it was great, it did burn through my battery rather quickly. Not that I wasn't expecting that, of course. But it was nice to try it out & am looking forward to when it reaches me out here west of Boston in a few months.

I am LOLing at this. I live in Brookline (I can walk to Fenway from home) and am often "other" than where I actually AM- but usually only by a few hundred feet.

Usually I can just toggle my data on the off again and it will fix itself. This is NOTHING compared to the location woes I had with the Thunderbolt, though. I was "in" Europe & Asia without ever leaving Massachusetts on a regular basis.

Well, I've never unexpectedly been in Europe! But it's kind of good to know that it happens to others as well. I will have to try the data toggle if it happens again to see if that ill quickly correct the hiccup.

And I just read that 4G will be active out here near Shrewsbury on August 18th - that's much sooner than what I had previously read.
