GPS is Excellent

I have seen some concerns on how long it takes to acquire a GPS signal and I will tell you on the GN its almost immediately. Sitting in my house it acquired the signal so fast I didn't even see it pause.

Agrred. Instant, accurate lock in my office building. All other phones have taken some time to lock in.

On my previous Android phones I could see the GPS icon chugging away in the notification bar until it locked. I don't see anything like that now on my GNex (for example, when I open Google Maps) except a steady icon in the upper left of the notification bar. Is that the GPS icon?

yes, that is the GPS icon you see

How about with Wifi turned off? ICS may be cheating....

With wifi turned off I get a lock in between 9 - 60 seconds (use "GPS Status" in the market, it has a setting to tell you how long the device took to get a lock- measured from the command activating the GPS to when a lock is achieved so it is accurate). If you reset the A-GPS data with "Gps Status" or a similarly functional app, it helps a lot. It was taking me > 30 seconds, now it is averaging about 10.
