Help GPS/No Data

kle

Lurker
This is my first Android phone, and I'm just learning my way around it.
I've been able to use the GPS just fine on WiFi and with the network data, but it seems that I should be able to use the internal GPS antenna without turning on the Network data when I am away from a wifi spot.

Is this possible? I can't seem to get a lock on satellite, even though I have used GPS Status to update the AGPS info, and it says I am getting a lock on 5/7 satellites.

Can anyone help?
thanks

You don't need data or wi-fi for GPS. It uses a seperate radio for GPS. Turn your phone to Airplane mode and GPS still works. Make sure you have a clear view of the sky and GPS will work.

OK - have confirmed that GPS works with both wireless and network disabled.
Does anyone know of any apps that offer voice turn-by-turn navigation while offline, other than Co-Pilot?
thanks again
