Help GPS not turning off

When I turn on my GPS the icon never goes away. I used to leave my GPS on all the time and never had the icon on unless I was using maps or foursquare. Now it won't go away unless I turn the GPS off... Any ideas?

Have you installed anything of late that wants access to your location?

Check out some of the permission checker apps on Play and have a look to see if any newly installed/updated apps are requesting GPS permissions.

Have you activated Android Device Manager?

Thanks, so far so good...seems like it was a police scanner app I had installed....I've had it in the past and had no problems with it...Must be something with a new update..again thanks

Worked for a short time..its back on...back to the drawing board

Have look at your phone's microUSB port for dirt or fluff which could act like a electrically resistance and might trigger the GPS like the phone placed in a car dock.
