Help GPS performance issue

The gps worked great on this phone when I purchased it in January. I could get a lock in my office as long as I was near a window. I do not use the gps all that often so not sure when the problem started. I was in need of directions yesterday and when I tried to use it in the car I could not get a lock. Even standing in an open parking lot it has trouble and will loose lock off and on. It is a stock phone and has recently been upgrade to the 2.3.6 software. Just trying to find out if others have had problems or if it is just my phone.
 
2.3.6 gingerbread, yeah? maybe you just need a rom or get it checked to the service center for free! :D

There is an app on play store called gps test. Try that it will show u how many satellites are in view, if any. My 1st SR had faulty gps, luckily i noticed it in first 30 days and got a new one instead of a warranty replacement
