Help GPS problem/Kies problem

Should I exchange the phone if my gps is not working properly, or is it a known issue and we are awaiting a software fix. I also cannot get kies to install. What should I do?

GPS sucks for me as well. Getting a new phone next week though, so hopefully it's fixed. If not, I'm sure we will get an update for it.

GPS wasn't picking up signal here at all, for hours. I just tried again now and.. works great, signal indoors tracking me close enough to follow room to room as i move in house.

Please note only 32 bit Windows operating systems are supported currently.

This is what it says on that page, I tried installing anyway and it extracts the files but after the box disappears and installation does not continue.

My GPS is fine once I get out of my house(which is also surrounded by thick trees). Even in my house, I get within 5 meters.

For GPS users, try going to Location settings, and turn on use wireless network. I did that and it connected in seconds!

The link to download Kies from the UK site also lists the file as, "Kies_1.5.1.10071_32.exe," which I assume would imply 32bit-only. I'd know right now, but the dang download's puttering along at 7kbps... Anyone have a mirror?

It definately runs as a 32 bit app but it installed for me no problems.

Regarding GPS, I went into Settings/Privacy, turned on Use my location, then went to Location and security and turned on use wireless networks. Instant fix. I opened maps and it grabbed my location right away.

Kies - Software & Manuals - Support - Samsung Mobile India says it's 64bit compatible and thats the same site as the link I gave you.

If I remember I had to run the .exe manually but again, it isntalled.

Kies will not detect my phone either on windows vista 64 bit. I've used google navigator with no problems, won't detect me in the house, but once I'm in my car and moving it works perfectly.

thank you for the link. I ran the exe and it installed fine this time.

about GPS I haven't tried yet but what I'd wireless is not available on a long trip or something how would GPS work

Still works the same, wireless is just to help it locate quicker. You could still use the GPS chip standalone if needed. And it's seemless, not like you have to make changes to do so.

My GPS does not work. kind of sucks since its a brand new phone. will this be a software fix? it will find your approximate location if you use the network to find location, but satellite will not work.
