Help GPS Problem

Mihai92

Newbie
Hey guys,
So i tried to search for an adress for my holiday and i see thay my s2 cant connect to any gps satelite using google maps. I have to mention that i havent tried any other gps app.
What it is to do to connect to a gps with my phone ??

you need not use gps to find a location in google maps. as long you have internet connection (network data package or internet through wifi), the maps you wish to look for and your approximate location will load based on AGPS (Internet). GPS is only required to determine your phone's current location without an internet connection.

If you wish to use GPS to determine your location, then try activating GPS outside, and there are no interference between your phone and the sky (like a roof or inside a building) that will take a while depending on whether your GPS catches a sattelite signal quickly or not.

I actually wanted to use my phone as a gps while i was on holiday but i cant seem to make it connect to a gps satellite. I used navigator entered an adress and then it said it is looking for satelites but it doesnt connect to any.
I cant figure out the problem.

AGPS still uses GPS (hence the name :p). AGPS uses towers to get a rough fix on your location and then queries the closest GPS satellite, thus speeding up the process.

What you're talking about is tower triangulation, which is very approximate (read: not accurate). This just finds the closest towers to you and approximates your location based on signal strength to each tower.

Tried and nothing happens it finds about 7 on the radar but it shows 0/7 at connectivity.

Might be worth taking it to a Samsung Service Point and getting them to re-flash your firmware or alternative firmware as I have heard that some Firmware releases are experiencing problems with GPS.
