Hello,
I purchased my EVO V from Radio Shack last week and ALMOST everything is great. The only major issue I have found is the GPS. It seems to take way too long to lock onto an accurate signal. For example, I jumped in my car after work today and turned on GPS to navigate home using google Maps/Navigation (had Wifi and GPS radios on). As I pulled out of the parking lot, the map had me in a nearby field. Then it had me driving several blocks over and pointing in all sorts of directions. The navigation was obviously trying to get me back on a different course. It was not for several minutes that the signal became accurate, once I was already on the highway.
This is a problem I NEVER experiences with my LG Optimus V. I never once even considered that the Navigation didn't work on that phone. Sure, it would not work because of the phone running out of memory or crashing, but never did I suspect that the GPS/Navigation was inaccurate.
I have searched around a bit and haven't found anything too specific about my issue. Some people state that it sometimes takes a few minutes for GPS to get the necessary signal. But again, this never happened with my LG with the exact same destinations and routes.
Any thoughts on what to do or if to return would be great!
Thanks,
RJ
