gps question

Android noob here. So if this needs to be moved out of the atrix forum that's fine. With google nav. does it use just gps signal or also data?

if you want nav that just uses gps, you need a standalone app like Navigon, copilot or Sygic. All avail on the market

As mentioned, both. GPS to fix your location, and data for loading map/traffic/satellite.

Google Nav doesn't store maps or even all local data on the phone itself, just a certain radius of the map. So it does need to hit up your data to grab info here and there.
