Backing up apps allows me to get all my apps back after the wipe right, and paid ones? Oh, and is there an app that'll let me view my wallpaper without all the apps blocking it?

Your paid apps are linked to your Gmail account, so if you sign in after the wipe to your the same Gmail account your paid apps will be there in the market for download. You can use an app like Astro File Manager to back up all your other free apps.

Uh, haha. I really can't figure out how to use it. Seems complicated haha, help?

I think you mean Astro File Manager, ok, so open it up. Press the home button at the top left. Press tools, select application manager/backup. Now it will load the list of applications that you have installed on your phone. Wait for it to load, it may take a little while. So now you can check the ones that you want to back up. If they are say private by them, you cannot back those up with Astro, you'd need to be rooted to back those up. But if the the font for an app is blue or white you can back it up. You may later on see apps in red font, this means that the app you now have installed on your phone is newer, or of a later version that the same app that you have already backed up.

So now to reinstall your apps after your wipe, just be sure to have copied all of your files from your sd card over to your computer before you wipe it.
After the wipe, bring the folder named backups back over to your sd card. That is where all of the apps that you backed up are. So don't move them around or anything, just keep everything in that folder and move it back to your sd card. Then download astro from the market again, and go back to the menu, select tools --> application manager/backup and then select the backed up apps tab on the top. This will show you all of the apps that you recently backed up from before your wipe. Select the ones you want installed by marking the check box, then select install in the upper left corner. From there you will be able to install those backed up apps as normal. Good luck!!

Whoa, lotta work. I'll try this once I get home and I'll ask if I run into any problems.

Hi everybody,
I'm new here and i just switched from a eris to a moto droid and im trying to figure out how to show a numerical address under my location (blue dot)? when it loads the address it just reads my street name then a near by location. with the eris it would give a specific location (like 555 5th st.) for example. I have google maps 4.1. any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I would love to help, but I just don't know how to fix this, maybe people over in the Motorola Droid forum would know. Good luck, hope you find it out.

So I did a factory reset and now my phones kinda messing up. The alarm only sometimes goes off in the morning now and when it does go off sometimes the snooze won't work. And now I'm texting a friend, my phone isn't vibrating when I get a text. Any idea what's wrong?

Be sure to go to Settings --> Sound and Display --> Select Phone Vibrate. That will make your phone vibrate for incoming calls. Also, go to the Messaging App, Menu --> Settings --> Notification Settings --> Check off Vibrate. That should do it.

And in the market when i go to my downloads only like half of my apps show up.

Are you referring to your Paid apps or free apps. Because after a wipe only your paid apps will all show up, your free apps won't show up. Sometimes they will, but usually they won't.

All vibrate settings are on and it'll only vibrate sometimes. Same with the alarm. And oh, I guess my apps aren't showing up cause I downloaded them from astro i guess? But when I look in the market at the apps I have it says they're not downloaded, oh well.

That'll happen. If you want to keep them up to date so that you get update notifications you'll have to download them from the market, backing them up by way of Astro will not link them to the market and allow for update notifications. Sorry about that, it's a bit of a pain but after a few resets you get the hang of whats the most important apps are. :)

As for the alarms, I'm not sure why it would do that, I suggest downloading another alarm clock app just to be safe to be sure that your alarm goes off. I like digital alarm clock, I think its pretty good, and its a sure bet.
