GPS/satellite icon broadcasting when off????

When I turn my GPS on the satellite shows that it is active, I do my thing and when I turn gps off the satellite icon shows as active in the notification heading broadcasting still I have to reboot phone for it to disappear. Anybody else have this prob with the eris???

Do you have the weatherbug app installed? I was having the same problem when I checked the weather, then exited out of the app and the gps logo was still on. I emailed the weatherbug people about it and they said it is a glitch with the phone software that shows the icon although it isn't actually doing anything.

No weather bug app. I haven't left the icon to idle so I can't tell if it has been a battery drainer or not...maybe i'll try it...
