Help GPS starts correct then jumps over a street.

Was wondering if anyone knew what caused this:
I was trying to increase my wife's Nexus GPS volume when I noticed how inaccurate it was.
When I open Maps, the location is right on top of me then always jumps over a hundred yards to the next street.
It is the same every time. Even if I walk out to the correct street in front of my house.

I have my Razr and my old Incredible in front of me and they show the correct location but do not jump.

Any ideas?

I've seen several reports of this on various threads/forums, and think the issue was fixed with a manual force close of maps and then reopen.
 
Yes! My Galaxy Nexus has been doing this today. About the most frustrating thing cause I really needed navigation at the time. Completely useless.

Force closed, restarted, uninstalled updates hasn't fixed it at all. Extremely frustrating.
 
I have this problem as well. Just noticed it today (didn't use my gps yesterday, but I know it worked the day before)

In Google maps, it starts out accurate, and then jumps over about 1000 ft west of my present location.

Google Navigation is inaccurate from the beginning. I tried Mapquest, and it has the same issue, so I'm thinking it's a Galaxy Nexus issue. It's extremely frustrating and makes navigation useless.


Any idea how to rectify this???
 
Apparently, this problem was fairly widespread the last couple of days. I've had my gnex since launch day and never had any issues with gps accuracy. So last night I made a short trip to the store and figured I'd check it out. It was indeed showing my location as 3 blocks away from where I actually was. I tried the force close, reopen and then tried a reboot. Mine also showed my location accurately for about 5 seconds and then went back to 3 blocks away.
Today tho it seems back to normal
 
Wow, that is weird. Saturday afternoon I was heading to my friend's new house and the navigation had me driving through the middle of the woods. I exited out and came back in and it was fine. I've never had anything like that happen.
 
Had the same issue Friday and Saturday (didn't use it Sunday). This morning it worked great though... seems really odd that inaccurate locations could be a server/network error though.

It might be worth seeing if any other devices suffered from this problem.
 
I had this issue when I went from the west coast to the east coast one time about a month ago. To resolve the issue, install GPS Status, go to Tools --> Manage A-GPS state and select reset (clears all GPS data). This will force your phone to reboot and after it was resolved. -Ryan
