gps strength

how is the gps on the atrix? i came from and ipone 4 which had a great gps to the inspire which is not so good. google nav is great, but the gps seems to lose me for a few seconds every now and then. so im thinking of switching to the atrix, but i need a good gps as i use it every day. also, i need a good external speaker. never realized how much i use that to talk until i had the inspire which has a very bad external speaker. thanks in advance.

Typically if I am outside unobstructed the GPS has me within 5 feet. On average around 12-14 feet. (GPS TEST) Used in the car dock as a GPS it has worked perfectly and I love the "apps" built in the Atrix when used with it's car dock. Speaker is fabulous.

Two thumbs up here.

I have both the Inspire and the Atrix and I find the Atrix to have significantly better GPS reception. The Atrix keeps a lock with 5'-10' accuracy almost all the time while in my vehicle.

It picks up immediately when I have turned and always has my compass orientation correct. Coming from the Captivate, I REALLY appreciate the accurate GPS of the Atrix.

what "apps" built in?

When you plug the phone into the the car dock (the specific Moto Atrix dock) it automatically hops into "car mode" larger icons, voice activation, all that. That's why I used the "" around the apps, cause it's not really an app per say but it functions differently in the dock than out of it.
