do we have a built in gps or do we need to download a 3rd party one.. . and if we do have to download one what's a really good one

Are you talking about a nav app? Check out "Navigation" in the app drawer. It's Google Nav, quite good, considering maps are updated constantly.

OP can you be more specific like the above mentioned? Technically the GPS is a piece of hardware inside the phone so there would be no way you could "download" one.

+1 to google navigation also.

My thoughts, too. Yes, there is a built in GPS receiver chip inside of the phone. Applications can access that. For the built in Google Maps, it will show your location on the regular map or map with satellite imagery. Then you can look up a place in Maps, Places, or Navigation (all in the app drawer) and choose to navigate to the place. The navigation app is what I'm guessing you're asking about (what many just call GPS, or what Brits call sat-nav). The built in Google Navigation does full turn by turn direction with voice directions. I think almost all Android users would say it's the best app for sat-nav on Android, and probably a lot (including myself) would say it beats out dedicated units like a Tom Tom unit. There are other apps for navigation, but try the built in one first and I think you'll love it.

Did that cover your question?

okay so another question is there a way in google navigation to plan a route or trip with multiple stops. so if I want to first head to pittsburgh pennsylvania stop there at a specific address then go to new york new york with a specific address then up to maine with a specific address. is there an option to do this like mapquest does or you can organize it for the fastest route if you have 5 or 6 locations near each other that you want to visit!? I really like google navigation so far I just was wondering if there's more options I can't find them anywhere
