Greatest browser EVER!

I have. There is no option to disable restoring the tabs from last session. Here are all the options in the settings in Opera:
  • Load images
  • Opera Turbo
  • Opera Link
  • Single column view
  • Status bar
  • Navigation bar
  • Zoom
  • Text wrapping
  • Privacy
    • Remember passwords
    • Accept cookies
    • Clear history
    • Clear passwords
    • Clear cookies
    • Clear cache
    • Clear shared locations
  • Advanced
    • User Agent
    • Exit button

Which preference were you thinking of?
Type "opera:config" in address bar. Happy hunting.
To me, Opera mobile is the best browser out there, all I ask is swipe left/right for changing tabs, like in xScope.

Also, pinch-out at an already unzoomed page would close the tab. Now that would be awesome.

I really don't feel like hunting, actually, and I doubt chanchan05 does either. If you have actual instructions to change it, that'd be great for chanchan05, though. I use Dolphin Mini, so I don't need it.

I was just rightfully responding to the unhelpful post that says to poke around the preferences.

Except the other guy told you to poke around the preferences, and I don't know if you even knew about this advanced-config page.

Sorry. I mistook the call to "poke around preferences" to mean "the setting exists and is in an obvious place if you would just look" instead of "there are tons of settings you can look through and may or may not find what you're looking for."

I took a cursory glance at opera:config and didn't see anything to solve chanchan05's problem.

I just tried Opera again for the 2nd or 3rd time. I admit it's fast and smooth, but that's all I can say about it. I really don't like the inability to zoom mobile pages. Zoom works fine on desktop pages, but I really don't like scrolling around that much. Mobile pages have gotten very good, in most cases as good or better than their app counterpart. I'm back to Xscope, the only browser that I found that zooms and wraps properly, fast and smoothly. I don't really like the bookmarks in Xscope, but there are many ways around that.

I just started poking around with the new Chrome Beta. It's pretty slick. I'm a little torn between Boat and Chrome.

Today I tried the Boat browser, and I gotta admit that I'm amazed.

It's so eye-candy and simple, reminds of my Safari.

It's a strong candidate to become my favorite.

Xscope here! I have tried them all and it's what I like. Doesn't receive the respect it deserves.

Give it a try,

Decon

I removed Opera, it seems they haven't fixed the problem of the app going to desktop sites instead of the mobile version of the websites. Went back to Dolphin HD for now, but sometimes I want to go back to Boat.

I tested these throughout a whole week:

Default
Opera
Opera mini
Dolphin HD
Dolphin Mini
xScope
Boat

I ended up using Boat, it's the most eye-candy for me, and the Safari-esque tab management is neat.

Why both? I tried both for a while and really didn't see much difference; but they are both great! I ended up with Xscope because of its mobile page zooming ability.

The full one has more features but the Mini is faster, so it depends on your needs. I use Xscope a bit as well.

If you have multiple browsers, then Choose Browser is a must-have app. You can jump from browser to the next if you like using the share link option on any browser. :)

If you have at least 1GHz processor, both mini and full version will work the same way.

If your hardware is weak, then Mini will be best for you.

Boat Mini also has a setting right where you can get at it on exit. Exit and clear records.

Opera can be a bit of a pain to configure. I've used it on the PC since it was pay for.

Some of the features remind me of the complaints when Fx launched that "awful" bar.

With Opera - I don't use widgets, don't use their mail, or other goodies. As far as I'm concerned, it's bloat and harder to deal with than the about:config in FX. I get pestered about syncing mail since Opera now has its own mail servers. I couldn't get the mail to work with Eudora years ago. Now it's Thunderbird.

A lot of the Opera community is European and they have a slightly different outlook about doing things. (not good or bad - just different and they are entitled.) I do use Opera as a backup. Chrome simply doesn't have one feature I want - turn off images on the fly. You can turn off images in Chrome, but it's a general setting - not page by page.

The one thing I do miss - around Version 8 - you could make Opera look like any web browser, even Lynx!

Another advantage of the non webkit based Opera (and firefox?) is downloading files. I've had problems downloading from many sites with the various webkit browsers. Instead of the file you intended, you only get a shortcut. The thing that bugged me most about dolphin was having to use gestures for navigation. Call me old fashioned but I like forward and back buttons.

I like Opera for reading online short stories. It processes text very well and syncing bookmarks across devices is do-able. Two things bug me:

First, on my Transformer Tablet, I can't make the font small enough. Letters are huge in portrait and massive in landscape. How hard could it be to let users change the zoom settings to whatever extremes they desire?

Second, the bookmark syncing seems to happen when it damn well feels like it. The only way I've found to force it is disable syncing then log in again. That's annoying. I'd like to be able to read at home on my tablet, hit a button to sync bookmarks (keeping track of what I've read through having the bookmark exist), then be able to sync my phone and have access to them on the go.

Overall Opera is a good tool which fits a particular need I have but isn't my "go to" browser. The Chrome or ICS browsers fit that for now.
