I am a new Motorola Droid owner. My goal was to find a device that combine features of my iPod Touch and a cell phone into a single package that is not wired to a specific operating system.

My most desired features are ebook reading and audiobook playback (60 commuting miles each work day).

I find the Droid similar to my Palm Treo in that it is easy to add new program modules. I have found applications to transfer iTunes playlists and files, aldiko reader, a nice rpn calculator, and a couple weather widgets.

I really like the notification panel and the ease of flipping between apps. I find it amazing that the browser works well and even non-mobile web sites are quite readable (unlike on my touch). I am finally getting some use from my data plan.

Happy Thursday
