New Android user (HTC Incredible) and veteran software applications developer. Specializing in smart (Palm!) high speed handheld barcode scanning applications. Watching with great interest the Android platform developments and assuming that time will soon come where there will be a handheld smart scanner running the Android platform. Symbol? (moto), Janam?, Aceeca? what will develop?
From what I see, every Android device thus far includes phone service, but surely that will not be mandatory when the platform is run on smart barcode scanning devices.
I must say, looking at the Java SDK platform for Android apps makes me nauseous. The code needs a good beating with an ugly stick!
