Grip Shells, Incipio Feather, Barely There etc...

As summer is filled with picnics, potlucks and outdoor parties, I found myself putting my phone on the picnic table more often lately.

I just need something low profile which covers the back of the phone. I really like the look of Grip Shells. But, some folks @XDA say it gets squeaky. Do any one of you guys who use the case have any comments on that?

I also came across with the Incipio Feather and Barely There. Both look nice, but I haven't seen or handles them in person.

The thing is that I'm a fan of the Moto dimple on the back. Sadly most of the cases cover it. That's the reason why I like the Moto shells option.

The Barely There case looks like it has a dimple on the back, but when I checked a few YouTube videos or some images over the internet, they don't have it. I don't get it. Maybe if I order it directly from Motorola, I might get one w/dimple. I don't know... I can always ask them of course.

I've been using the grip shell for the 6 weeks or so that I've had my Moto G. So far I haven't noticed any squeakiness or other problems. I absolutely love it 'cause it basically looks like a bumper over the standard back shell. It protects the sides and has a small lip to help protect the screen, but it's not really bulky.

Thanks for the reply, alfick3!

I'm ordering one shortly. :)

BTW, what color do you have? I kinda want to get a red one for a change, but the wife says it's not my color. :D

You're welcome.

I bought the black one, so I'm rockin' the all black look.

I have the gripshell black as well, and I like it overall. Especially for the slim profile and the slight raise of the lip over the touchscreen for being able to lay the phone face down.

My only complaint is that the sides (right and left... portrait mode) have a little too much "give" and feel a little too "rubbery". They flex too much to my liking, and collect too much lint around the edges.

Funny, I put mine in my pocket all the time and don't get any lint collected.

Funny, I want to know the name of your dry cleaner. :) But seriously, it really is not that big of an issue. If the rubber was a little "stiffer" I would like it a whole lot better.

Pretty good case nonetheless. Just not stellar. I don't regret buying it.

Lol. My front loader washer and dryer.

The only thing I can complain about is on the top and bottom where the holes are for the headphone jack and the charge port. There the rubber is kinda thin so when I go to pull it out of my pocket I sometimes pull on the edge. Like you said though, it was a great purchase.

I think I'd still like to get one of the flip shells (maybe the Motorola brand or maybe one of the wallet flip shells).

I like Motorola Flip Shells as well. Many positive reviews.

It sounds like you can talk on the phone while the cover is closed since there is a cut-out for the earpiece speaker.

This one came in first.

Ringke Slim.

The molding seam is a turn off for me especially at the bottom.

Then again, it's only $9 including shipping, so I should have known better. At least it's not a lint magnet as it's not made of silicone. :p

I like the fact that it covers small gaps between the screen and the body. No more dust accumulation lol.
