Root GSCRIPT.ZIP Errors

Ra21V12eN

Newbie
Ok,

I've been toying with the idea that I'm going to finally try rooting my Eris. Not going so smoothly however. E

very time I attempt to extract the GSCRIPT.ZIP file, I get an error that it is "bad zip file.:/sdcard/gscript.zip" I've downloaded this thing now multiple times and every time it comes back as being bad and the same error.

I'm using ES File Explorer 1.6.0.7 to do the function.
Verizon Eris
Firmware Version = 2.1
Baseband Version 2.42.01.04.27
Software Version 2.41.605.6

Any suggestions?

I know this might sound a little silly (but that's never stopped me before ;)), but try doing the download with a browser other than the stock broswer. I've had good success (or better success) with downloads using Opera Mini Browser for sites like MultiUpload, etc. when using Opera than I even did/do with the stock browser.

Give that a shot and see if it helps.

Cheers!

I've read that the stock browser on the Incredible 2 won't download anything from MultiUpload. xScope works fine for me.
