Lurker
First my device is s-on..
2 days ago i flashed king cobra 3d rom with cwm everything was good... and today i decided to flash buttered toast kernel. everybody said that i shall flash it with 4ext recovery and i downoaded it. i actually didnt know about how to use it. i selected installing zip file with 4ext superstyle. however it installed kernel. or i guess... after installation i tap reboot phone. and my phone started keeping reboot. HTC logo comes, quietly brilliand comes and reboots. i tried lots of thing. flashed other roms, pull out battery for 5 minutes... but still same. i'm about crying please help meeee !

This is part of the prollem with htcdev unlock. Recovery cannot flash the kernel. Sounds like you have some sort of kernel incompability issue. If you have a good backup of stock,or viper, you can try restoring it. If that fails, wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache, reflash a Rom,then fastboot flash the matching krnel.

I can't link it atm(im on the phandroid app on my tablet) but there is quite a bit of info in the htcdev unlcock guide in this forum :)

thank you !. i can reach bootloader and recovery. while bootloader was starting i saw something like
SD checking...

i think some files are missing. in other forum they told me to run ruu, flash pg86img.zip I'm s on what to do any help is greatly welcome ...
Thanks

Nope, you're not missing anything. Hboot is just doing its normal checks for those files on the SD card.

You just need to flash a rom, then flash the matching boot image.I'm on my way to work ATM,so i can't give you a step by step until later, but the thread I mentioned above should have all the info you need.

Per the thread,you can either:
1)boot recovery into memory and flash a rom

2)flash a rom and manually flash a boot image

The thread describes 1 and has a link for directions to 2. Sorry i can't be more specific ATM :(

I did what you said. I clean all datas and installed king cobra rom using by '' intall zip from sd card '' and i flashed boot.img using by cmd but still the same it reboots :(

what boot image did you install? The one from viper rom,or a different one?

Were there any errors with the rom flash or boot install? A copy of your cmd window may be helpful :)

Thanks for helps buddy. I installed rom well and found boot.img in kernels file in kingcobra3Dgsm-ics.zip and flashed it succesfully.

I think problem's source is kernel i have installed ''buttered toast kernel'' .

My Hboot number is 1.53.0007

And with helps i may save my phone or my father kill me :D

any helps? I'm gonna throw it away :(

saaaaayyyy whaaaaaa

definately do not throw it away! :smokingsomb:

assuming that you have used this rom and this kernel then that is indeed what started your troubles,as that kernel is for AOSP roms, and king cobra is a stock sense based rom. the 2 are defaintely not compatible.

the rom recomends you flash firmware, wich you are unable to do while s on. i do not think this is your prollem,as you are on the newest hboot, and the firmware does not contain a newer one(i just downloaded and checked his firmware file). your current firmware may not be ideal if your not on rogers in canada, but should not cause the bootloops.

have you tried fastboot flashing this boot image ?

if you can install that boot image successfully, without cmd errors,it will overwrite buttered toast, and the rom should boot. im a little confused about what kernel your currently running- idk if youve flashed buttered toast again,or something completely different.

so at this point my guess is that:
1)you successfully flashed an incompatible kernel
or
2)you have not successfully flashed a compatible kernel.

so where we go from here, try and flash the boot image i linked, wich is the one from the king cobra thread.

if you still have prollems after that, please provide a copy for your command window for the fastboot flash- without it we can only speculate that there were no errors or odd responses.

if the rom and kernel i linked are not the ones you used, then please provide links for the ones you did use :)

last and not least:
to copy in cmd, right click, click "mark" then highlight everything in white. then hit enter,or right click to copy. paste the output here :)

Thank you very much for great helps. I installed yoda's ics rom and flashed stock kernel . After 2 days i got my phone back :) good to didnt throw it :)
