Root Gt-s5363

Hello community members. I need a bit of spoon-feeding if you don't mind :o I'm a bit nervy rooting for the first time. I've done a bit of reading but I need reassurance as well as backup if I do anything wrong or want to revert back to factory.

Firstly I'm here to explore android and with that comes my phone, its a Samsung Galaxy Young GT-S5363. I think its been opened, think  Its an o2 device, its got the o2 logo thing coming up when booting up and shutting down. from the device info its got Android version: 2.3.5 - build number: GINGERBREAD.XXKI6

do you want kernal and base numbers? and any other info?

I've linked the phone to my PC/Kies but I had 2 major issues with that software, firstly it showed an update available for the phone but just continued to fail over and over again and the software, Kies sucks, its sooo bloody slow. Samsung should be ashamed, sorry but they should.

right I'd like to root the phone, open it up, explore the phone but I've got a few questions, firstly how and what files?

secondly how do i revert back to how it was should either things go wrong or i just want to?

I really appreciate all the help you can give me, thank you

The is so much of negativity regarding root. But the truth is, its nothing to be nervy about. Follow the simple instructions and you'l have your phone rooted.
You only need one zip file to root your phone and one to unroot it. Try the Universal Root. The thread is just a few blocks down. It works for almost all versions.

And shed your naive-ity :P and just do it.

Happy to help! :)
