Help GT540 ascending ringtone

Hi i got a LG GT540 today its running 2.1 i have noticed that the ringtones are all ascending but i see no option to change this, Is this normall, i like my tone to start loud instantly.

Try settings>sound>volume> and set the alarm to the max
