Root Gtalk install

Has anyone successfully installed Gtalk on either JoyOS or CTmod 3.6 roms?

I tried copying the apk in system/apps and changing the permissions.

I tried installing from cvm.

Nothing works.

Did you pull Gtalk from the CTMod removed apps zip and use the ApkInstaller.zip to install it via CWM? If you did use this method did you clear the caches before rebooting? Dunno if this will help you but it might.

For ctmod, the talk.apk in the removed apps zip works.
