Guerilla Bob available for Android

Hi Bogdan,

On the download buffer limits, i know that Samsung devices have a 30mb download limit instead of the 50mb the Google Market has. Not sure if it's related to the issues seen (I myself run it at a Samsung Galaxy S without issues) but maybe as a refer point ;)

Btw, i reviewed Guerrilla Bob for my own website: Review: Guerrilla Bob AndroidGaming.nl – Nieuws en reviews van games voor je Android toestel!
It's in Dutch, but maybe Google translate helps out ;) Anyways, great work and hopefully the beginning of lots of great games for Android of you guys and gals!

Hey guys!
My name's Bogdan and I'm one of the devs behind Guerrilla Bob.
First of all, I'd like to thank you for your support... we had no idea Guerrilla Bob would be so well appreciated throughout the Android community.

We also plan to do a few fixes. We'll definitely add the dual-stick support, as an option (so you could turn auto aiming on and off)
I know the Nexus One doesn't support proper multitouch.. you guys mentioned the Desire may also have similar problems. Do you know of any other phones like that?

We're pretty new to the Android scene... and we're also trying to figure out some other support issues. Some users said they've been getting an 'error 18' when installing the game. I saw that also appears on other apps... If there are any devs around, could you give us some tips on how to work around that?
Is it some download buffer limits on certain phones/OS versions?

Oh, and about connecting 2 devices in a multiplayer game, just have the server ready in the level select menu, and then press join on the client device. If you have some weird WiFi setup, and can't find the server automatically, do this:
-on the server, press the 'server info' button, which shows you its IP
-on the client, select join, and then press the manual connect button. Enter the IP from the server, and press connect.
Just make 100% sure you're both on the same network.

Thanks for a great game! I made a thread about it in a Swedish forum and it seemed VERY appreciated!

The "error 18" thing is strange. I don't know why it happens, but sometimes, it does happen when installing a big file.
There is many sollutions, some complicated but also a very, very simple one:
Hook the phone to the PC via USB, browse the SD card on the computer, look for directory ".android_secure" and delete the file "smdl2tmp1.asec". This works wonders. :)

Starting the game on one device, then manually entering the ip address on the other, did the trick for me. Don't know why me wifi were tripping. Thanks again BogdanDude!

Fun game, hope you fellas make enough to continue supporting Android as a platform. Things are just now starting to get rolling.

I'm just curious as to if/when there will be content updates. The story mode sort of ends on a hanger if I'm not mistaken (you don't get to fight your former friend). Aside from that, the description of the game says you get to use all of these weapons, most of which are not available in any of the modes:

- Machinegun
- Timed Bombs
- Molotov Cocktail
- Shotgun
- Double Uzis
- Flamethrower
- Rocket Launcher
- Grenade Launcher
- Sticky Bow
- Chain Gun

The "Error - 18" message is a problem with the Android operating system or the Android Market. One person claims that the problem is created by starting a download then losing your phone signal or connection to the internet before it finishes. A work around is to unmount the sd card, install the app, mount it back up again and then transfer it to the card. To fix the problem do the following:

If you are getting the "Unknown error - 18" problem trying to install or update games or other apps, delete the file smdl2tmp1.asec in the .android_secure folder on the SD card and it should go back to normal.

More information about this problem can be found here: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android Market/thread?tid=7d004179e5574276&hl=en

As a side note, I love the game, you did an excellent job. The graphic, animation and sound quality are amazing, and it runs silky smooth. By far the best 3D game on the market for the amount of details it has.
